"Successful AV"

"Successful AV" is a course designed for teachers, teaching assistants or anyone involved with the presentation of TV or audio material to all ages. No technical knowledge is required.

Aims

The successful AV presentation, whether to pre-school children or office colleagues, relies on the presenter having sufficient confidence in and knowledge about their AV equipment to allow them to prepare and present their material to best effect. If necessary it will also enable them to cope with simple problems.

The skills gained on this course are to give the delegate confidence to work in an AV environment. This course is not aimed at replacing the AV Technician, whose role is vital to any academic establishment, but to complement it by breaking down the barriers of misunderstanding and to save on wasted time.

Content

This course puts emphasis on enhancing the delegate's knowledge of some of the popular technical terms involved in the AV world, the different ways pictures and sound are connected up and making efficient use of the equipment available. Every delegate will get the opportunity to set up and work with a variety of AV equipment ranging from TVs and VCRs to DVD players and video projectors, along with audio and PA equipment. Emphasis will also be put on health and safety issues relating to the use and care of equipment.

Duration

The course lasts for three sessions of three hours each. This can be arranged as one-and-a-half days or three mornings, afternoons or evenings. Each session will have one refreshment break.
